Last updated: 25/06/2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to your use of the Union Contractors website and to enquiries, quotes, bookings, and services provided by us.

By using our website, requesting a quote, accepting a quote, booking a service, or engaging us to perform work, you agree to these Terms and Conditions.

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions, “we”, “us”, and “our” refers to Union Contractors, operated by Union Contractors Pty Ltd, ABN 35698944571.

“You” refers to the customer, website visitor, property owner, business, representative, or person requesting or receiving our services.

1. Our Services

Union Contractors provides electrical maintenance, commercial and industrial electrical support, solar system health checks, solar site inspections, and related services.

Additional services, including decking, fencing, landscaping, and non-structural retaining walls, may be offered in the future.

The availability of services may depend on your location, the scope of work, licensing requirements, site conditions, safety requirements, and our capacity at the time of enquiry.

2. Website Information

The information on this website is general in nature and is provided for informational purposes only.

While we aim to keep our website accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Website content may be changed, updated, or removed at any time without notice.

Nothing on this website should be taken as electrical, solar, building, structural, legal, or professional advice specific to your property or circumstances. A proper assessment may be required before recommendations or work can be confirmed.

3. Quotes and Estimates

Any quote or estimate we provide is based on the information available at the time.

Quotes may depend on factors including:

  • Site access
  • Property condition
  • Materials required
  • Labour required
  • Safety requirements
  • Compliance requirements
  • Urgency
  • Scope of work
  • Information or photos supplied by you

If the actual work required differs from the information provided, or if unforeseen issues are discovered, we may need to revise the quote or obtain your approval for additional work and costs.

Unless stated otherwise in writing, quotes are valid for [insert number] days from the date issued.

4. Bookings and Site Access

You are responsible for ensuring that we have safe, reasonable, and lawful access to the property or site at the agreed time.

You must ensure that:

  • Someone authorised is available if required
  • Access areas are clear and safe
  • Pets are secured
  • Relevant gates, doors, switchboards, roof access points, or work areas are accessible
  • Any known hazards are disclosed before work begins
  • Any required permissions from owners, tenants, body corporate, site managers, or other parties have been obtained

If we cannot access the site or safely complete the work due to circumstances outside our control, a call-out fee, cancellation fee, or rescheduling fee may apply.

5. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate and complete information when requesting a quote or booking a service.

You must tell us about any known issues, risks, restrictions, site rules, prior work, existing damage, safety concerns, or relevant property details that may affect the work.

For commercial, industrial, or managed sites, you are responsible for providing any required induction information, site access requirements, safety procedures, permits, or contact details before the scheduled work.

6. Pricing and Payment

Pricing will be provided in a quote, estimate, invoice, or written agreement.

Unless otherwise stated, prices are in Australian dollars and may be exclusive or inclusive of GST depending on how the quote or invoice is presented.

Payment terms will be stated on the quote or invoice. Payment may be required upfront, as a deposit, on completion, or in staged payments depending on the type and size of the job.

If payment is not made by the due date, we may pause further work, withhold documents or reports where lawful, charge reasonable recovery costs, or take further action to recover outstanding amounts.

7. Variations and Additional Work

Any work outside the agreed scope may be treated as a variation.

Variations may arise due to:

  • Additional customer requests
  • Hidden or unforeseen issues
  • Site access limitations
  • Safety or compliance requirements
  • Changes to materials or specifications
  • Additional faults or defects discovered during the job

We will seek your approval before proceeding with additional work where practical, unless urgent work is required for safety, legal, or damage prevention reasons.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking, please provide as much notice as possible.

A cancellation or rescheduling fee may apply where:

  • Insufficient notice is provided
  • We have already allocated labour or materials
  • We attend the site and cannot access the work area
  • The work cannot proceed due to information not disclosed by you
  • Third-party costs have already been incurred

9. Solar System Health Checks and Site Inspections

Solar system health checks and solar site inspections are based on the scope agreed at the time of booking.

Unless expressly stated in writing, a solar inspection does not guarantee that every hidden, intermittent, internal, historical, or future issue will be identified.

Inspection findings are based on visible, accessible, and testable components at the time of inspection. Further specialist testing, manufacturer support, replacement parts, monitoring access, or additional work may be required.

10. Electrical Safety and Compliance

We aim to perform work safely and in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and licensing requirements.

If we identify unsafe, non-compliant, damaged, or hazardous electrical conditions, we may recommend or require corrective work before continuing.

We reserve the right to refuse, pause, or stop work if we believe the site is unsafe, unlawful, unsuitable, or outside the agreed scope.

11. Materials and Products

Where materials, fixtures, components, or products are required, we may supply them or use items supplied by you if agreed.

We are not responsible for defects, failures, delays, incompatibility, warranty issues, or performance problems caused by customer-supplied materials, products, fixtures, or equipment.

Product warranties may be provided by the manufacturer and may be subject to the manufacturer’s own terms and conditions.

12. Warranties and Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits, excludes, or modifies any consumer rights, guarantees, warranties, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for loss or damage caused by misuse, lack of maintenance, pre-existing defects, third-party work, customer-supplied products, unauthorised modifications, events outside our control, or failure to follow our recommendations.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the amount paid by you for the relevant service, or the re-supply of the service, where lawful and appropriate.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, including loss of profit, business interruption, loss of opportunity, or loss caused by delays, except where liability cannot legally be excluded.

14. Delays

We will make reasonable efforts to complete work within agreed timeframes. However, timeframes may be affected by weather, supplier delays, site conditions, access issues, safety requirements, customer delays, illness, emergencies, or other factors outside our control.

We are not liable for reasonable delays caused by circumstances beyond our control.

15. Photos, Documentation, and Records

We may take photos, notes, or records of the site, work area, equipment, defects, completed work, or relevant conditions for quoting, reporting, compliance, insurance, quality control, or record-keeping purposes.

We will handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
